About Jaimie

Background

I bring a wealth of experience in leading learning and development initiatives across both corporate and academic sectors. I’ve had the privilege of designing and implementing programs that bridge the gap between academic theory and real-world application, fostering a culture of continuous learning and driving performance improvement.

With over 20 years of experience in higher education, I started my career in student affairs and services, which sparked my passion for making a meaningful impact in education. I’ve also had the opportunity to serve as both a full-time and adjunct faculty member, teaching in various formats including face-to-face, blended, and online courses using both synchronous and asynchronous technologies.

I spent 5 years as the Vice President for Student Support & Engagement at Noodle, an online program management company in Ed Tech, before transitioning to a leadership position in learning and development at Edward Jones. After a little over a year, I returned to the non-profit sector to continue my work in education.

Currently, I’m the Sr. Director of Learning & Development at Big Brothers Big Sisters of America, where I lead a team dedicated to creating and delivering impactful learning experiences for staff across 230 agencies and over 30,000 volunteers nationwide. These experiences focus on critical topics like mentorship, youth safety, mental health, body confidence, and leadership. I’m also the primary facilitator for the Executive Leadership Institute, where I guide two cohorts of senior agency leaders each year through advanced leadership challenges. Additionally, I’m excited to be spearheading the launch of the organization’s inaugural People Leadership Academy in early 2025. My approach to developing learning experiences is all about creating interactive, engaging programs that drive sustainable change.

Coaching & Consultation

As an ICF (International Coaching Federation) certified coach, I offer life, career transition, and leadership coaching. I’m dedicated to helping individuals build confidence, reflect on their goals, and support them in reaching those goals. Whether you’re navigating leadership challenges, career transitions, or personal development, I’m here to help you turn your goals into a reality.

I’m not the type to lead deep breathing exercises or yoga sessions (though I respect coaches who do and can refer you to a few!), but I’m all about diving into focused, action-oriented discussions and, most importantly, getting sh*t done. My approach leverages coaching techniques that help you find the answers to your own questions, while also providing advice and consultation based on my 20 years of leadership experience and 11 years of being a parent with ADHD, raising children with ADHD. My coaching style is centered around real talk and tangible steps toward growth and change. If you’re ready to roll up your sleeves and tackle your goals head-on, I’m here to help you get at it!

In addition to coaching, I provide comprehensive consultation services, including pivoting advice, resume and cover letter writing, and more. You can learn more about my consulting services and podcast at Pivoting Out of Edu.

Education

I went to school forever! I  earned a Bachelor of Arts in Music from California Lutheran University (CLU), Master’s of Education in Higher and Postsecondary Education from Arizona State University (ASU), and a Doctorate of Education in Leadership from the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA). GO BRUINS!

Personal Life

I love crafting (is it possible to ever own enough craft machines??… I think not) and CrossFit. I live in Southern California with my hubs (a special ed teacher), two young girls, and their four dogs: two Goldendoodles, a Maltipoo, and a mutt. Everyone in my house has ADHD, so there’s never a dull moment! We’re a busy, energetic family, and I’m always finding ways to balance our lives, from keeping up with crafts to making sure everyone’s needs are met. It’s definitely a fun and challenging dynamic, but it’s what makes our home uniquely ours.

Writing
